As shown in Fig. 1, a photovoltaic-energy storage-integrated charging station (PV-ES-I CS) is a novel component of renewable energy charging infrastructure that combines distributed PV, battery energy storage systems, and EV charging systems.
The results provide a reference for policymakers and charging facility operators. In this study, an evaluation framework for retrofitting traditional electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) into photovoltaic-energy storage-integrated charging stations (PV-ES-I CSs) to improve green and low-carbon energy supply systems is proposed.
In the case of bidirectional charging, EVs can even function as mobile, flexible storage systems that can be integrated into the grid. This paper introduces a novel testing environment that integrates unidirectional and bidirectional charging infrastructures into an existing hybrid energy storage system.
Furthermore, Liu et al. (2023) employed a proxy-based optimization method and determined that compared to traditional charging stations, a novel PV + energy storage transit system can reduce the annual charging cost and carbon emissions for a single bus route by an average of 17.6 % and 8.8 %, respectively.
