Introduction Base station cooperation, also known as coordinated multipoint (CoMP), is an ambitious multiple-antenna technique, where antennas of multiple distributed base stations and those of multiple terminals served within those cells are considered as a distributed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system [ 1 – 3 ].
