The advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage (AA-CAES) is a promising solution to enhancing grid frequency security due to its flexible and high inertia properties. Therefore, based on distributionally robust optimization, this paper proposes a dispatch strategy with the participation of AA-CAES to enhance frequency security.
5. Conclusions A power system dispatch oriented AA-CAES model is proposed and is incorporated to the optimal scheduling of power distribution system integrated with AA-CAES and renewables. The tri-state model of AA-CAES considers internal thermodynamic process and part load characteristics, so is more accurate.
Define the AA-CAES charging/discharging efficiency as the change rate of the energy storage states per unit electric power. As seen, the abovementioned AA-CAES model takes the form similar to traditional storage, except for the three correlated energy storage states, the state-dependent charging/discharging capacity and efficiency.
