Lithuania has set a goal of achieving 2 GW of solar power capacity by 2030 in its current NECP. The 2025 target has already been surpassed, with total solar capacity reaching 1.2 GW. By 2030, Lithuania aims to meet 100 % of its electricity demand, with up to 90 % generated from domestic renewable sources.
According to DSO JSC "Energijos skirstymo operatorius" as of February 2024, there were over 61,000 prosumers in Lithuania, generating >800 MW of solar energy together. In Estonia, 5363 electricity producers were connected to the Elektrilevi (network operator in Estonia) grid across the country in 2023.
