(Executive editor: Yuan Ting) The CKD6H locomotive, a product of a new energy collaboration between CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC) and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, has just been completed at CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd. and it is scheduled for delivery to Kazakhstan in June.
CRRC Ziyang has completed production of a CKD6H hybrid locomotive designed for operation in extreme cold conditions, with delivery to Kazakhstan scheduled for June 2025. The locomotive integrates a hybrid configuration consisting of a conventional diesel engine supplemented by an onboard battery system.
The vehicle is equipped with a diesel-battery hybrid power system and has been developed to meet the technical requirements for operation in temperatures down to -50°C. CRRC Ziyang has completed production of a CKD6H hybrid locomotive designed for operation in extreme cold conditions, with delivery to Kazakhstan scheduled for June 2025.
The vehicle reportedly complies with the EAC (Eurasian Conformity) certification, using Chinese technical norms. This deployment represents the first instance of Chinese standards being applied within the EAC framework. CRRC Ziyang finished the first CKD6H hybrid locomotive designed for harsh conditions of Kazakhstan.
