The thermal runaway of lithium-ion batteries has a rapid and violent process, so the thermal runaway protection of the battery system is extremely important in EVs, which can directly affect the life and property safety of millions passengers and drivers.
An ideal flame-retardant CPCM-based battery thermal safety system (BTSS) should integrate thermal management, thermal runaway suppression and fire-extinguishing capabilities. Currently, most systems have only provided thermal management and thermal runaway suppression, with limited or no fire-extinguishing ability.
