Helios Nordic Energy sells a pivotal 10-MW battery project in Sweden, boosting the nation''s clean energy journey while eyeing a 2025 grid connection. Helios Nordic Energy has completed the sale of a 10-MW battery energy storage system project near Sodertalje, Sweden.
Staffan Forsell, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Ports of Stockholm, commented: “We are working strategically to meet EU regulations that require an onshore connection for ships by 2030. This places high demands on the electricity grid, especially in Port of Kapellskär where the current capacity is limited.
The 10MW BESS will be strategically located in SE3, helping to stabilize the grid by providing ancillary and balancing services across frequency markets. “We are excited to deliver this project to our customer,” said Magnus Häggström, Chief Commercial Officer at Helios Nordic Energy.
